Description

The annual UN Millennium Development Goals "Short Course VIII on Exploration for Geothermal Resources" was held Oct. 31 - Nov. 23, 2013 at Lake Naivasha, Kenya.  The course was hosted by the UNU-GTP, Geothermal Development Company, Kenya (GDC), and Kenya Electricity and Generating Company, Ltd. (KenGen).

This year‘s course is attended by record number of 70 participant from 19 countries. The participants are from Kenya (32), DR Congo (3), Djibouti (3), Eritrea (3), Malawi (3), Rwanda (3), Sudan (3), Zambia (3), Burundi (2), Ethiopia (2), Nigeria (2), Tanzania (2), Uganda (2), Yemen (2), Cameroon (1), Comoros (1), Mozambique (1), Niger (1), and Tunisia (1).  This is the first time Cameroon and Niger have participated in the course.
