This year, the annual UNU Visiting Lecturer was Wilfred A. Elders, professor emeritus of
geology from the University of California who has been involved in the Iceland Deep Drilling Programme in Krafla, North Iceland.
Wilfred A. Elders gave a series of five lectures on "Applications of petrology to geothermics" from the Thursday 3rd of September to Friday the 4th, and Monday the 7th of September to Wednesday the 9th.
