This year, the annual UNU Visiting Lecturer was Dr. Roland Horne, professor in reservoir engineering at Stanford University in California. One of the most renowned of geothermal specialists in the world.

Roland Horne gave a series of lectures on "Reservoir engineering and well testing" from the Monday 30th of August to the Friday 3rd of September.

Roland Horne was the Technical Program Chairman of both the World Geothermal Congress 2005 in Turkey and 2010 in Bali. He has supervised the graduate research of 36 PhD and 99 MS students, including about 50 in geothermal topics.

They were held in Vidgelmir in Orkugardur, Grensasvegur 9, and were open to all parties interested in geothermal sciences.
