Dr. Brynhildur Davíđsdóttir is a Professor of Environment and Natural Resources within the Departments of Economics and Environment and Life Sciences at University of Iceland. Brynhildur has extensive teaching, research and consulting experience in interdisciplinary issues as they relate to environmental and energy analysis, such as environmental and energy policy and management, ecosystem services, sustainable energy development, sustainability indicators, climate change mitigation and adaptation and modeling energy related technological transitions. Brynhildur is also on the board of the International Society for Ecological Economic and the book review editor for the Ecological Economics journal.
Currently Brynhildur is involved in three Nordic centers of excellence of which one focuses on climate adaptation and mitigation assessments for the Nordic countries (NORD-STAR), one Icelandic center of Excellence (GEORG) in addition to participate several EU funded research projects. She in addition has led research for the Icelandic government on energy policy as well as, mitigation of GHG emissions from Iceland in addition to having served on various government committees. She also sits on behalf of Iceland on a NATO based scientific committee for the Science for Peace and Security Programme. Brynhildur also serves on the board of several companies in Iceland.
