Course VII to be held in Kenya in Oct. and Nov. 2012 and release of Geothermal Training in Iceland 2011

United Nations University Geothermal Training Programme (UNU-GTP) in Iceland, Geothermal Development Company, Kenya (GDC) and Kenya Electricity Generating Company, Ltd. (KenGen) will be hosting “Course VII on Exploration for Geothermal Resources”, to be held at Lake Bogoria Hotel and at Sopa Lodge, Naivasha, Kenya, October 27 – November 18, 2012.

Note
: Participation in the course is by invitation only. The course is mainly aimed at young professionals from East Africa with a diploma or a degree in chemistry, physics, geology (Earth and Environmental Sciences) or engineering, who have been actively involved in geothermal research in the home country or are potential candidates for it in the near future. Female participation is encouraged.

The UNU-GTP yearbook "Geothermal Training in Iceland 2011" has been released and is now available for download on-line under publications.

The yearbook is beeing sent out to former UNU-GTP Fellows, supervisors, scientific institutions and libraries.

If, for some reason, the book should not reach any of the former Fellows, please be in contact with current contact information and we will send out another copy.  Others who do not receive a book automatically but are interested in a free copy should also be in contact at unugtp@unugtp.is with information of mailing address.
